El papel del apego al lugar de los residentes en el diseño de experiencias turísticas en áreas rurales

Resumen

Los residentes de destinos turísticos desarrollan vínculos emocionales con los espacios donde viven. Estas conexiones se conocen como apego al lugar y pueden tener diversas consecuencias positivas tanto para los residentes como para los destinos. Este artículo tiene como objetivo investigar la influencia del apego al lugar en el diseño de experiencias turísticas en espacios rurales, un área de investigación poco estudiada. Empleando una metodología cualitativa exploratoria, realizamos entrevistas semiestructuradas con elicitación fotográfica a 10 agricultores familiares y emprendedores en 4 rutas turísticas rurales. El análisis temático reflexivo reveló tres temas: 1) El lugar como inspiración para experiencias turísticas; 2) La influencia del apego al lugar en la búsqueda de ofrecer experiencias auténticas; y 3) La interacción entre las expectativas del lugar y las transformaciones espaciales y personales. Los hallazgos sugieren que el apego al lugar de los residentes contribuye significativamente a la planificación de experiencias turísticas. Estos resultados tienen implicaciones teóricas para la comprensión del apego al lugar y el diseño de experiencias turísticas. Desde un punto de vista práctico, argumentamos que el apego al lugar de los residentes puede ser un sustrato inicial para la planificación de experiencias memorables. Además, el desarrollo responsable del turismo puede fortalecer las conexiones afectivas de los residentes con su espacio, historia y cultura.

Doutorando em Turismo pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Turismo da Universidade de São Paulo (PPGTUR-USP). Mestre e Bacharel em Turismo e Tecnólogo em Hotelaria pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). Integrante do Grupo de Pesquisa Turismo, Trabalho e Território (UFF) e do Núcleo de Pesquisa em Economia e Administração do Turismo (NEAT-USP). Principais interesses de pesquisa: psicologia do turismo; experiência turística e apego ao lugar.
