This study presents an evaluative bibliometric analysis. Its corpus comprises 24 Brazilian tourism journals; the object of analysis consists of the articles published in these journals (2020-2024), and their citations. The study has two main objectives: (i) to assess citation trajectories and (ii) to evaluate and rank these journals according to their impact. Materials and methods include the manual collection, review, and disambiguation of articles and citations, descriptive statistics, and the calculation of the H and G indexes. The results are compared with those from the 1990–2018 period through a review of literature. Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo ranks first across all metrics and rankings, generally with results far exceeding those of the second-ranked journal. Revista Rosa dos Ventos stands out in metrics and rankings based on the set of most-cited articles for each journal, approaching the results of Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo. Completing the first quartile of the most-cited journals are: Anais Brasileiros de Estudos Turísticos, PODIUM, Turismo: Visão e Ação, and Revista Acadêmica Observatório de Inovação do Turismo. Substantial changes are observed in impact rankings and in the H and G indexes when compared to the results from the 1990–2018 period.
