Urban hospitality of tourist destinations
A study of the District of Santo Antônio de Lisboa in Florianópolis (SC, Brazil)

This article had as object of study the tourist destination Santo Antônio de Lisboa, in Florianópolis (SC, Brazil), a traditional “sunny” destination and city beach, cultural tourism focused on the heritage of colonial architecture and, more recently, driven by the gastronomy of nouvelle cuisine with a reinterpretation of the traditional gastronomy of fish. Thus, the main objective of this research was to analyze the conditions of physical space hospitality of this tourist destination, endowed with unique natural landscapes, where the historical-cultural memory marks the built landscape, in addition to the recent accentuated tourist demand due to cultural attributes and environmental preservation. The methodology is supported by descriptive and qualitative research with an empirical and sensorial approach, supported by documentary, bibliographic and iconographic research. The data were analyzed in the light of the methods focused on the concepts and paradigms that support the studies of hospitality in the built space, also aiming at relating and inferring assumptions, systematizing theoretical models and categories of analysis. The results enlarged the epistemological construction and contribute to the methods of analysis of urban hospitality in tourist destinations. The results of the analysis point to the relevance and suitability of the categories of analysis of readability, identity of the place and urban environmental comfort. However, the accessibility analysis category was compromised in this study.
