Abstract

This paper intends to think about tourism in times of socio- economical crises and apparent rising of insecurity and urban violence. Having Buenos Aires as locus the author tries to analyze the contradictory and conflictive situation between cultural tourism seen as a factor for economic and social development and the conflictive arenas where some people, usually neglected by policies, try to survive.
